The Hoyo Colorado photovoltaic solar park in the municipality of Martí is synchronized with the National Electric System (SEN) and is in the testing phase, local media in the province of Matanzas reported today.
The Girón newspaper announced on its Facebook page that this good news fulfills the commitment of the project's designers, builders, and electrical workers to provide power before the start of summer.
This new solar park has an installed capacity to generate 21.87 megawatts (MW), similar to the one inaugurated on March 28 in the municipality of Jovellanos, an experience that provided important lessons for construction in Hoyo Colorado.
Livan Morales, head of a brigade of electrical workers from Unión de Reyes who collaborated on the installation, commented on the enthusiasm and effort maintained over the past week for the completion of the installations, and noted that it has not yet been inaugurated because tests and relevant load calculations must be performed.
José Miguel Solís, a reporter specializing in electrical energy, explained on Facebook that the strategic benefits of the project include generating clean energy, avoiding the burning of fossil fuels, and creating new jobs.
The upcoming inauguration of the Hoyo Colorado solar park will represent the second of several planned projects in the province, with an installed capacity to generate 21.87 MW, aimed at the energy transition to renewable energy sources in Matanzas.
