Cuba reports 1429 new cases of COVID-19, 1 death

Havana, January 6 (RHC)—Cuban health authorities announced on Thursday the highest number of cases of COVID of the last three weeks, 1 429, confirming the growing infection rate of the respiratory disease. One death associated with it was reported.

As of midnight, there were 3 803 active cases hospitalized.

The provinces of Camaguey, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Villa Clara and Las Tunas reported more than 100 cases each. Pinar del Rio surpassed the 200 mark with 251.

The Caribbean island now accumulates 970 567 diagnosed cases and 8325 deaths associated with the disease since March 2020.
