Moscow, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Felix Plasencia, on Tuesday informed that he expressed his country's interest in becoming a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to Russian authorities.
At a meeting organized by the Valdai Discussion Club, the foreign minister said that, as part of this group, he could carry out useful work for all EAEU members and Venezuela.
In another part of his speech, he said that both countries can jointly develop an energy association with African nations with a great potential in that sector.
The Venezuelan minister said amid an official visit to Moscow that started on Monday that he thinks an alliance between Venezuelan and Russian companies with African enterprises can be a win-win path for all of them.
He recalled that his country’s natural resources were plundered by US multinationals, which took away all their rights while leaving “almost nothing for the Venezuelan people.”
Plasencia claimed that Venezuela does not want that fate for Africa, so legal consultancy was offered to improve its trade relations and alliances that facilitate exploitation, production and investment in its energy resources.
