Moscow, Sep 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas held talks on Monday with Russian entrepreneurs as part of his extensive work agenda in Russia, which also includes meetings with government leaders.

Cabrisas met with directors of the ARTK and Veya Invest companies, with whom he exchanged on the state of bilateral businesses and their development prospects, according to a press release from Cuba's embassy in this nation.

The deputy head of Government will also attend a meeting of co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technical Cooperation between Cuba and Russia.

In addition, the Cuban leader will take part in a videoconference of the Eurasian Economic Commission, in which he will address Cuba's request to obtain the status of Observer State of the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan).

Previously, Cabrisas held a meeting with the president of the Federation Council (Russia's Senate), Valentina Matvienko, at the headquarters of that body in Moscow.

During that talk, he updated on the economic situation of Cuba, aggravated by the unprecedented tightening of the US blockade against the country and by the Covid-19 crisis that affects the whole planet.

The deputy prime minister also explained that Cuba works tirelessly to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, accelerate the development of the economy and move forward, highlights the press release from Cuba's diplomatic mission in Russia.
