Raul Castro Presides Over Main Rally for July 26 Celebrations

Cuban President Raul Castro is presiding over the main rally to commemorate the 57th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons by a group of revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro.
 
The rally is at the Ernesto Che Guevara Square in Santa Clara, central province of Villa Clara and is being broadcasted live by Cuban radio and television. Revolutionaries who participated in the attack against the two military barracks and others who came from Mexico in 1956 aboard the Granma yacht accompanying Fidel and Raul Castro to continue the struggle against Fulgencio Batista’s dictatorship are present.
 
This year the celebration is dedicated to Latin American independence hero Simon Bolivar and to the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the independence struggles in Latin America.
