Chavez Warns about Possible Aggression

President Hugo Chavez said that a military aggression against Venezuela is possible, and that the charges from Columbia alleging the presence here of FARC guerrillas were paving the way for an attack.

The President warned during the closure of the III Our America Trade Union Meeting, held in this capital with the participation of leaders of 28 countries, that due to the seriousness of the case they are obliged to consider the possibility of an invasion.

According to Chavez, Bogotáâ?Ös charges against his country are a lie that could hide real warlike intentions.

He said that everything is a hoax, a perfect excuse for an invasion, and added that if that should occur, it will spark off a 100-year war, because Venezuela will never be a "Yankee" colony.

According to Chavez an aggression will eventually boomerang against Washington and the Latin American oligarchies.

"Yankee and Colombian right wings should think it over", he stated.

Recently, the socialist leader called Colombian President Alvaro Uribe a puppet of the US attempt to regain control over the region.

Chavez defined his position regarding the recent pictures and videos presented by Colombia before the Organization of American States (OAS) to demonstrate the alleged Venezuelan support to Colombian FARC.
